Finish or Frog Socials

Sometimes, you get stuck mid-project, and you need to decide: should you push through and finish, or cut your losses and reclaim the yarn? In honor of our own Karl the Frog, we’re hosting three craft socials for you to bring a project to be finished…or frogged!

Pucks and Purls

Grab your tickets for San Jose Barracuda Hockey Pucks and Purls. Like a Stitch N Pitch (but cooler bc it’s on ice!) Pucks and Purls is an opportunity to stitch while you socialize with other crafters and enjoy the stadium atmosphere.

Your Pucks and Purls hosts are Gabrielle and Caeli, who design knit and crochet patterns under the label: Slip Slip Sis Designs. They have designed for publications including Vogue Knitting, Blue Sky Fibers, Making Stories, Makers of Color Collective, Sun and Fog, and many more.  Gabrielle and Caeli also host podcasts, vlogs and crafting challenges on their YouTube channel.

In addition to admission into the game and our reserved section, each Pucks and Purls ticket comes with a raffle ticket and a special gift.

March 21, 2026 is the last Saturday of the Bay Area Yarn Crawl, making Pucks and Purls a great way to wrap-up the Crawl, cast-on your new projects, and show off the goodies you picked up.

Disclaimer: please do not be upset if this is your first live hockey game, and you don’t see Shane, Ilya, or Scott. You’ll have a great time anyway.

Now in it’s 6th year, the Knit for Food Knit-a-Thon has raised over 1.7 million dollars for Feeding America, World Central Kitchen, No Kid Hungry, and Meals on Wheels.

Knit for Food was founded by knitwear designer Laura Nelkin, inspired by her daughter's AmeriCorps position at their local food bank during the pandemic summer of 2020, and yes, also inspired by the infamous Gilmore Girls Knit-a-thon episode.

Join us for the Knit-a-Thon:
Saturday, April 11, 2026, 7:00am - 7:00pm
Webster Park, 1435 Webster Street, Alameda

You’re encouraged to make a donation, and/or join our team to help fundraise, and/or attend the Knit-a-Thon.

We truly appreciate any and all support you can give. All crafts are welcome at the (unfortunately named) Knit-a-Thon; some of us will be crocheting or embroidering or, IDK, probably making beaded jewelry. No matter your jawn, we’d love to see you there!
