Meet the Makers

One of the guiding values of the Bay Area Yarn Crawl is, “Local First.” We give priority to local vendors, to both support small businesses in our community, and to minimize the environmental impact of shipping long distances. Get to know the folks who make your merch!

A Needle Runs Through It
@aneedlerunsthroughit

Maria (she/her, on the left with her daughter Vanessa) founded A Needle Runs Through It in 2011, growing her business from her passion of sewing and crafting since she was a child. Based in San Jose, every individual piece is made by hand by Maria and her family, using the highest quality materials, and designed to be functional, durable, and delightful!

For the BAYCrawl, Maria made a range of stitch markers in both metallic and natural wood finishes, available both as individual markers and as a set.

Comma Craft
@commacraftco

Corrie (she/her), of Comma Craft Co, lives and works in Sacramento, under the su-purr-vision of her cat Pancake. Comma Craft Co offers notions and accessories to a diverse community of humans who knit, crochet, quilt, sew, and so much more.

For the 2026 BAYCrawl, Corrie designed knitting needle point protectors featuring Dawn Kathryn Studios' Karl the Frog illustration.

Dawn Kathryn
@dawnkathrynstudios

Dawn Kathryn (she/her) creates illustrations that celebrate yarn and the joy of crafting from her home in Berkeley. Her hand-drawn art and critters, which highlight the diversity of the fiber community, have been the visual centerpiece of the BAYCrawl since its inception.

This year, Dawn is hand screenprinting her best-selling drawstring project bags, and an all-new zip pouch. She’s also made for us a holographic Karl sticker!

della Q
@dellaqbags

Part of the Jimmy Beans family in Reno, NV, is known for their maker’s bags, with collections designed for making on the go. The Oh Snap! is one of della Q’s best-selling bags, loved for its functionality and style.

For the 2026 BAYCrawl, we’ll be offering two sizes of the durable and versatile Oh Snap! bag, made from transparent mesh so you can easily see what’s inside.

Enviro-Tote
@envirotote

Founded in 1990, Enviro-Tote, Inc. is a family- and woman-owned and operated company located in New Hampshire. Preservation of the environment is central to their business philosophy; using thoughtful cutting and efficient stitching methods to eliminate fabric waste. Their standard bags are designed to have no fabric waste! Each bag is individually cut, hand-stitched and screen-printed in the USA by skilled employees.

For the 2026 BAYCrawl, Enviro-Tote has made heavy-duty mini market totes, embroidered with our BAYCrawl logo, and the zip-pouches onto which Dawn Kathryn hand-printed Karl!

Forge Cuts
@forgecuts

Based in Livermore, Georgette (she/her) founded Forge Cuts Wooden Creations in 2018, starting with a single pair of earrings. Now she offers laser cut wooden and acrylic jewelry, decor, and more. They both create their own pieces and accept custom orders, ensuring that their pieces fully embody what their customers desire.

For the 2026 BAYCrawl, we will be offering an exclusive, fully-customized stitch maker. Each shop carrying Forge Cuts will have a marker reflecting their unique aesthetic, allowing makers to find one that exactly fits their project

HapBee
@hapbee_creativestudios

Tracy (she/her) from HapBee Creative Studios designs and hand-crafts tools to solve knitters' and crocheters' common challenges and frustrations. Created by hand in Utah, her stitch makers are lightweight and crafted with care so they won’t tug or pull at your precious yarn.

For the 2026 BAYCrawl, she designed an exclusive 2-piece set of stitch makers featuring Karl the Frog.

Jo Studios
@jostudio.art

Jo Stockdale (she/her) is a lifelong creative who has had the joy of creating under her personal brand, Jo Studio, for the past five years. Based in the East Bay, her work is driven by color and a love of nature, taking form in stickers, art prints, hand printed bags, and more! Her illustrations are for everyone, and created with the hope of making people smile.

For the 2026 BAYCrawl, we will be offering an exclusive stitch marker from Jo featuring Karl the Frog.
